Global Village is definitely one of the must see places in Dubai as mentioned in my previous Discover Dubai post. I absolutely love the concept of Global Village and whoever came up with it is a genius!
Dubai is a hub of tourism and a melting pot of different cultures, nationalities and languages. A place where people from all over the world come together; it only makes sense to create one platform to showcase 30 countries!
I was so intrigued by this concept that I decided to see all of them and did just that despite the fact that Global Village is humongous and it took several hours to see the whole place! I’m going to share snippets of Global Village right here, right now! So grab some chai, coffee, green tea or any other beverage of your choice and jump right into it!
Turkey
Some pavilions are designed really creatively like Turkey’s shaped as a ship.
The vibe inside the pavilion is very ‘Bazaar’ like, with variety of goods being sold under the open sky.
Russia
We enjoyed something very unusual in Russia’s pavilion at the Global Village. We tried this ice cream that was prepared right there in the most unique way! Take a look:
Talk about ice cream katakat!
Iraq
These lamps looked so, so pretty!
Pakistan 💚
I swear I felt like I was actually in Pakistan. I absolutely loved the handicrafts, jewelry and everything else on display.
Europe
The European Pavilion could’ve been so much better, I would’ve loved to see traditional things inside but there mostly only western clothes inside and some food items.
Americas
Didn’t know Unicorns are made in Americas…hehe…I’m a fan of Unicorns so I must include this shot! ^_^
Bosnia
I really loved Bosnia’s Pavilion; it really is utilized to its full potential and really well maintained. I got a flavour of how Bosnia is as a country and by the time I left I was convinced that I should visit it at least once!
Thailand
Thailand’s pavilion was really nice as well considering that their tradition and culture was exhibited inside.
We got so exhausted with all the walking and decided to take a break and have dinner. We got so excited seeing Bundoo Khan at Global Village! It’s a famous Pakistani restaurant where I haven’t been in ages and totally craving it right now! We had so many options to choose from as you can see Chinese, Pakistani, Turkish but we decided to stick with the good old shawarma! Can’t really have enough of it and besides when in Emirates do as the Emiratis do, right? ^_^
There was a light show at Burj Khalifa this New Year’s Eve instead of fireworks but we got to see some at the Global Village.
I absolutely loved these boats, such a fun way to enjoy the views!
Africa
The African pavilion is another one of my favourites, there was Africa written all over it. Literally. Take a look!
So colourful and vibrant!
Egypt
A replica of Taj Mahal
Kuwait
Morocco
A traditional Moroccan dress:
There are these traditional sitting areas with traditional dishes being served as well in all pavilions for people to take a break from all the walking and just sit and relax.
Saw this gorgeous handicraft being made and I was completely in awe! So intricate and beautiful!
I took a panoramic shot to give you an idea how vast this place is…
That’s about it! I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you been to Global Village? Which one is your favourite pavilions out of the ones I’ve covered in this post?
Do let me know in the comments below! ^_^
I was so excited to read this. I have family visiting this next week and we’re planning on taking them here so this review is very helpful.
