“If the flower is to be beautiful, it must be cultivated.”

So a few months back I went plant shopping to a nursery nearby with Papa in law and Saad. This is the first plant I decided to get in my new home after getting married. It’s plumeria or commonly known as champa in Pakistan. When I first got it, it was quite small and had no buds or flowers. After weeks of love and care, it feels so good to see it bloom and thrive! Alhamdulillah!

If the flower is to be beautiful it must be cultivated

This reminds me of this Japanese saying I once read, “If the flower is to be beautiful, it must be cultivated.” That is so true, not just about flowers but about life as a whole. Nothing in life comes easy and everything worthwhile requires hard work.

Do you agree? Also do you appreciate nature and enjoy seeing flowers bloom? Let me know in the comments below! ^_^

  1. I love this flower! I used to live in Hawaii and they would put plumeria in the Leis for celebration. It has such an amazing fragrance. If I didn’t have such a black thumb I would try to grow one myself lol!

  2. Such a profound little saying! I got some seeds at the supermarket – it was part of a Little Garden campaign run by one of the large retailers, where they give you a little starter kit of sorts (soil, seeds in a tiny little container) and you grow the plants (herbs, flowers and veg). I have some growing nicely. I really want to re-pot them into a flower box in the front of the house. I like the idea of having a herb garden. You mentioned the first plant in your new home after marriage – cultivating a garden is much like making a marriage blossom I suppose. You need to care for it, give it attention and deal with weeds. The more effort you put in the greater the rewards you reap. All the best with your first plant in your new home. May it continue to blossoms. 🙂

  3. I totally understand your feeling!! It feels so good to take care of a plant and then see it fruit! SubhanAllah! Plants and Gardening is love!! 😍❤️❤️

  4. I appreciate nature so much but could never get green fingers. My mum has never been into it so I think I l must have got it from her!

  5. Absolutely true. You can’t just sit and wait for something good to happen. You have to do some work and then you will receive what you want, that’s how life is. For every single thing you have to put in some effort. Thank you for sharing this♥
