Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

Hi Guys!

This review is part of my top 5 favourite beauty products, do check it out if you haven’t already by clicking here.

Freeman Clay Mask Mint & Lemon Review 1

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub fuses freshly-squeezed sweet lime, sparkling lemons, sweet vanilla musk and almond oil, with sea salt, smashed brown sugar, glycerin and macadamia oils to leave your skin feeling smooth, supple, and sexy. Miraculous on dry legs, elbows (really – all over), it’s energizing, exhilarating, amazing!

My thoughts:
My skin can get super-duper dry and flaky during winters, especially my legs
. When the temperature drops they turn into lizard legs to be more precise (pretty…I know). Not only is it extremely annoying but also really uncomfortable and even painful.

In comes Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub to save my parched skin. I’ll take this moment to give a shout out to Soap & Glory! I am absolutely in love with this brand! Seriously what’s there not to love? It’s cruelty-free, has a huge list of products that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients and are thus suitable for Muslims to use as well (just watch out for alcohol in the product ingredients though) and I really enjoy their quirky and fun branding ^_^.

Soap-and-Glory-Sugar-Crush-Body-Scrub-Review-1

Coming back to the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub, it’s amazing to get rid of icky dead skin to reveal softer, smoother skin underneath and the macadamia oil in it gives a gorgeous silky smooth glowing finish. As the name suggests, it’s a sugar scrub so it’s really coarse and this coarseness is perfect for a body scrub, especially those rough areas like elbows, knees and heels. However, I wouldn’t use it more than twice or thrice a week at the max. I also use it to keep those pesky ingrown hair away by using it before or after epilation (although you’re supposed to exfoliate before and after in any case but I have trouble keeping up with that with all the adulting and stuff.)

The fragrance is amazing and smells like lemon, vanilla and the most heavenly dessert ever! I really struggle to stop myself from eating it (no jokes!). The only thing that annoys me is the packaging. It’s pretty simple as you can see in the photo, it’s a tub that you can scoop the product out of. However, the problem that I face is that it’s difficult to twist the lid back on once you open it. I’m not sure if the one I have has this defect or if there is a flaw in the packaging altogether but it does annoy me. To be completely honest though, the product itself is so good that I’m willing to overlook this flaw.

I would recommend only to wash it off with water (don’t use a shower gel/soap/etc.) and apply body lotion or oil as the last step for soft, smooth skin! ^_^

Pros:

  •  Works brilliantly as a body scrub
  •  Leaves skin soft and smooth
  •  Lasts a long time
  • Doesn’t contain animal derived ingredients
  • Is not tested on animals

Cons:

  •  The packaging, it’s difficult to twist the lid back on after use
  • Not easily available in stores in Pakistan
  • Even if it is available locally it’s a bit pricey compared to how much it costs abroad

    1. Thank you so much! I’m glad you found this review helpful! ^_^

Body oils and lotions are perfect to retain moisture but the scrub is mainly to remove dry, flaky skin (not to moisturize) although the oil in it does help to soften the skin.

I would recommend only to wash it off with water though (don’t use a shower gel/soap/etc.) and apply body lotion or oil as the last step for soft, smooth skin! ^_^

  1. I love Soap & Glory products and like you say, abroad (at home) they are reasonably priced but here in Egypt, they are double or sometimes triple the RRP and for me that’s just too much.

However, I do love the sugar scrub, even when I make my own it doesn’t compare to S&G!

    1. True but I still splurge on their products available locally because they last a long time and I agree their products have some amazing ingredients that aren’t easily available either so DIY is sadly not an option ^_^
